[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 20s who threatened to distribute sexual intercourse videos to his girlfriend demanding a breakup has been arrested. It was also revealed that this man assaulted his girlfriend's pet dog with a brick.
Jeonbuk Jeonju Wansan Police Station announced on the 14th that they have arrested A (21) on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming using a camera, etc.) and the Animal Protection Act.
A is accused of threatening his girlfriend B, who demanded a breakup on the 14th of last month, by threatening to distribute secretly filmed sexual intercourse videos on social network services (SNS) or to acquaintances.
When the threat did not work, A went to his girlfriend's house on the 20th of last month and hit the pet dog's head several times with a brick and other objects. He is also accused of chasing the victim, who fled while holding the pet dog in her arms to stop him, and swinging his fist.
B's pet dog reportedly suffered a severe injury with a fractured skull.
The police seized A's mobile phone and other items and secured related videos and photos through digital forensics (evidence analysis). However, it is reported that there is no confirmed circumstance of the video being distributed yet.
During the police investigation, A is known to have denied some of the charges.
The police judged the charges to be serious and have arrested A for investigation.
