View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] At around 6:28 a.m. on the 14th, an express train bound for Yongsan on Seoul Subway Line 1 derailed near Singil Station.
According to Korea Railroad on the day, there were no casualties reported from the accident. Passengers on the accident train safely evacuated on foot to Singil Station following the guidance.
After the accident, some operations on Line 1 were suspended. The Gyeongin Line express train is operating normally on the 'Dongincheon to Guro' section, but operations between 'Guro and Yongsan' are currently suspended.
Regular trains are running on both directions, but there are some delays due to the accident's aftermath. The Gyeongbu Line express and regular trains are also experiencing delays in both directions.
KTX and regular trains are operating normally.
Korea Railroad dispatched an emergency recovery team to the site and is carrying out restoration work.
A Korea Railroad official said, "It is expected to take a considerable amount of time," adding, "The exact cause of the accident will be investigated after recovery. We will do our best to ensure a safe recovery process."
