[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Irene (real name Bae Juhyun), a member of the group Red Velvet, donated 100 million won to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and support victims.

On the 27th, Irene delivered 100 million won in COVID-19 related donations to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea.

Through the Daegu Community Chest of Korea, Irene said, "After hearing the news about COVID-19, I wanted to lend my support. I hope this helps not only the citizens of Daegu but also those who are struggling due to COVID-19."

The donation Irene delivered is expected to be used for quarantine supplies and medical support necessary for COVID-19 prevention among low-income groups in Daegu.

Meanwhile, as COVID-19 spreads nationwide, a series of donations from celebrities such as singer IU, actors Son Yejin, Kim Hyesu, and Gong Yoo are continuing alongside Irene.
