Goyang City Reviews City Administration and Commends Public Officials at Executive Meeting

Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) held an executive meeting on May 6 in the main conference room of Goyang City Hall, where officials looked back on the progress of city administration and shared both achievements and challenges across the city’s governance.

Mayor Lee Donghwan began by stating, “There has not been a single ordinary day in recent times,” expressing his gratitude by adding, “Thanks to the efforts of public officials, each doing their best in their respective roles, the city administration has been able to function.” He went on to stress, “While results are important, what matters more is the trust and cooperation built over time,” and emphasized, “The time spent deliberating and resolving issues together is Goyang City’s greatest asset.”

During the meeting, updates on major policy initiatives were discussed, including the expansion of transportation infrastructure, establishment of industrial bases, and revitalization of culture and tourism. Mayor Lee remarked, “There have been various changes throughout the city,” and added, “Continuous implementation and management are needed so that these foundations lead to tangible changes felt by citizens in their daily lives.”

The difficulties and challenges encountered in the course of city administration were also addressed. Mayor Lee said, “It is regrettable that certain projects could not be implemented as planned due to institutional limitations and financial circumstances,” but also expressed appreciation, stating, “Nevertheless, I am grateful to each department for carrying out their work with a sense of responsibility.”

Finally, Mayor Lee stated, “Administration is the most essential foundation for safeguarding citizens’ daily lives in any situation,” and urged, “Please do your utmost to carry out your respective duties unwaveringly, so that no inconvenience is caused to our citizens.” He added, “Based on the foundation we have built so far, let us continue to work together to ensure the stable progress of city administration.”

Going forward, Goyang Special City plans to continuously monitor key policies and pending issues, and will focus its administrative capabilities on providing stable administrative services that are directly linked to citizens’ daily lives.
