It was selected as part of Gyeonggi Province's parking environment improvement project, receiving 30% of its funding from the provincial government.
The city had opened the parking lot free of charge in a pilot operation since October last year. However, to improve systematic management and operational efficiency, Yangju City signed a consignment operation contract with Yangju Urban Corporation and converted the facility to a paid parking lot.
Parking fees are set at 600 won for the first 30 minutes, with an additional 200 won for every subsequent 10 minutes. The daily parking pass costs 7,000 won. Deokjeong Station users can receive a 50% discount on parking fees when using the transfer parking lot.
An official from Yangju City said, "By converting to paid operation, we expect to enhance the efficiency of public parking lot management, improve transfer convenience at Deokjeong Station, and alleviate parking difficulties in the old downtown area. We will continue to promote improvements in transportation convenience focused on station areas in the future."
