Baek Younghyun, candidate for Mayor of Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province from the People Power Party, has announced a series of pledges to win voters' support. These include promoting "residential tourism" in connection with traditional Buddhist culture and introducing childcare policies to create a "city where raising children is easy," as felt by parents themselves.

During the meeting, Baek listened to the current status of temple stay programs and the challenges faced in temple operations. He also explored various ways to cooperate with the local community, such as developing participatory content that combines humanities education and Buddhist culture.
To achieve these goals, Baek outlined specific tasks, including strengthening temple stay programs, developing participatory educational programs linked to humanities education, and expanding tourism infrastructure to attract foreign tourists.
Candidate Baek plans to work on expanding the foundation of Pocheon’s tourism industry through tourism and educational content linked to traditional Buddhist culture.
He stated, “We will develop temples and other religious sites into healing spaces for both citizens and tourists, and continue to expand infrastructure for residential tourism.”

At the event, Baek met directly with children and parents, listening attentively to their real-life concerns about the challenges faced by dual-income families-such as the burden of childcare and the safety of commuting environments.
To address these issues, Baek proposed several measures: expanding support programs for dual-income families (such as accompanying sick children to hospitals and providing children's restaurants); increasing support for low-income single-parent families; further developing the 'Pocheon Aebom 365' 24-hour infant and child care linkage system; expanding projects to build AI digital education environments for elementary, middle, and high schools; enhancing the Fortune Bus, Smart Safety Shuttle, and Edu Taxi services; and expanding integrated after-school care at 'Dureundureun' for emotional and play-based activities.
Baek emphasized, “It is important to create a city where having and raising children is a source of happiness, not a burden. I will implement practical childcare policies to make Pocheon a 'city where raising children is easy.'”
