Main Primary on May 9-10, Final Candidate Announcement on May 11
The Central Party Nomination Management Committee of the People Power Party has made a final decision to hold a primary to select a candidate for the Governor of Geochang County in the 9th Nationwide Local Elections.
On May 6, the Central Party Nomination Management Committee held its 36th meeting and conducted interviews with the applicants for the Geochang County Governor nomination, whose applications had been transferred to the Central Party. The committee decided to hold a primary after comprehensively reviewing the results of document screening, interviews, and public opinion poll indicators.

Accordingly, five candidates-Koo Inmo, Kim Ilsu, Park Hyunseop, Lee Honggi, and Choi Gibong-will compete in the primary to determine the final nominee for Geochang County Governor.
The primary schedule includes campaign activities from May 7 to May 8, followed by the main primary from May 9 to May 10. The final candidate is scheduled to be announced on May 11.
A representative of the People Power Party stated, "We will select a competitive candidate through a fair and transparent process."
