Yang Sangho, Acting County Governor of Hamyang, held an emergency expanded executive meeting on May 6, emphasizing the minimization of administrative gaps and the smooth progress of ongoing government projects.
This meeting was organized to maintain administrative continuity and stability as the deputy governor assumed the role of acting governor after County Governor Jin Byeongyeong registered as a preliminary candidate for the June 3 local elections in Hamyang County.
The meeting was attended by department directors, bureau chiefs, and heads of towns and townships. The agenda included key issue reports from each department, followed by the acting governor's directives.

원본보기 아이콘During the meeting, Acting Governor Yang specifically instructed officials to: ▲thoroughly carry out election-related duties and uphold public service discipline; ▲manage the distribution of government compensation for high oil prices and Gyeongnam residents' living support payments; ▲strengthen disaster safety responses such as spring wildfire prevention; ▲implement energy-saving practices; ▲swiftly execute fiscal spending to revitalize the local economy; and ▲ensure timely reporting on trends from each department, town, and township.
He particularly stressed, "Political neutrality of public officials during the election period is a fundamental principle that must be observed," and added, "All public servants must diligently perform their duties so that residents do not experience any administrative gaps or inconvenience."
He further stated, "At this critical time, maintaining consistency and stability in county administration is of utmost importance," and pledged to focus all administrative efforts so that there is no negligence in providing administrative services and promoting key projects directly related to residents' lives."
Meanwhile, Hamyang County transitioned to the acting governor system on the same day as the governor's preliminary candidate registration, and this system will remain in place until the local election date on June 3.
