Optical networking specialist OE Solution is unveiling a range of next-generation optical communication technologies for AI data centers.
On May 6, OE Solution announced that it would participate in "AI EXPO KOREA 2026," held at COEX in Seoul until May 8, to present its high-speed optical communication components and new products. OE Solution develops and manufactures optical transceivers and laser diodes in-house, and has accumulated technological expertise in high-speed optical modules for 5G mobile communications, wired networks, and data centers. The company has also strengthened its market position by securing global telecom equipment makers as its clients.
The highlight of this exhibition is the 100G-class EML (External Modulation Laser) laser diode chip, which has been developed for the first time in Korea. This chip, with its high-speed and high-power characteristics, is considered a core component for next-generation optical communication systems and is recognized as a key factor in determining the performance of optical transceivers. In particular, the chip is based on indium phosphide (InP), enabling it to meet the high-performance light source requirements of AI and data center optical interconnect environments.
Also showcased is a 1.6T optical transceiver capable of ultra-high-speed data transmission. Designed as a next-generation interface to handle rapidly increasing data traffic, this product is compatible with InfiniBand switches and Smart NICs for AI data centers, and is expected to see growing demand in the global market.
In addition, the company will present its ELSFP (External Laser Small Form-factor Pluggable) technology in a live demo format, which is an external light source technology applied to CPO (Co-Packaged Optics) architectures. This next-generation solution addresses the heat dissipation and performance limitations of conventional optical modules and is anticipated to play a pivotal role in realizing high-speed, high-density optical communication.
OE Solution is currently working on technology collaboration and product development with major domestic and international telecom equipment manufacturers and data center operators, with some projects already entering the validation phase for commercialization. Through this exhibition, the company aims to expand its collaboration scope, secure new global clients, and pursue strategic partnerships. During the exhibition period, OE Solution will hold technical briefings and meetings with global network equipment and data center companies to explore practical business cooperation possibilities.
With the recent growth of AI, big data, and cloud industries, traffic between data centers is surging, rapidly ushering the optical communication market into the 1.6T era beyond the existing 800G. As a result, the importance of core component technologies, such as optical transceivers and laser diodes, is becoming increasingly prominent.
A company representative stated, "As AI infrastructure expands, high-speed optical communication technology is emerging as a key factor for corporate growth," adding, "We will accelerate the expansion of new partnerships through this exhibition, while making our collaborative achievements with global clients more visible." The representative also said, "Through continuous research and development, we aim to become a leader in the ultra-high-speed optical communication sector."
This exhibition is expected to serve as an opportunity for OE Solution to showcase its next-generation optical communication core component technologies for AI data centers and strengthen its foundation for global market expansion.
