Gyeongsan City Promotes Reduction of Single-Use Products at Children's Day Event

On May 5, Gyeongsan City held an on-site promotional campaign in the area around Gyeongsan Citizen Sports Complex to reduce the use of single-use products and to promote the correct culture of waste separation in celebration of the "Gyeongsan Children's Day Grand Festival."

This campaign was planned to encourage voluntary participation in reducing the use of single-use products and in proper waste separation, taking into consideration the characteristics of the event, which attracts many children and family visitors.

The campaign included such initiatives as reducing the use of single-use products at the event site, promoting the correct methods for waste separation, encouraging the use of tumblers instead of disposable cups, and sharing the "Nine Practical Rules for a Better Everyday by Changing Plastic Habits."

In particular, in addition to promotional activities, announcements were made at the venue to "refrain from using single-use products," encouraging both children and parents participating in the event to voluntarily join efforts to reduce single-use product consumption.

Kim Soohee, Director of the Resource Circulation Division, stated, "Small actions to reduce the use of single-use products, regardless of the scale of the event, can create significant change," and added, "We hope that Children's Day, which brings kids together, will serve as an opportunity for the culture of practicing resource circulation to naturally spread."

Meanwhile, Gyeongsan City continues to promote policies aimed at reducing the use of single-use products, especially in public institutions, and plans to expand resource circulation practices to various areas such as events and festivals.
