Best Production Award Revived After Two Years
Also Wins Playwriting and Acting Honors
A performing arts group founded by graduates of Dongseo University's Department of Acting swept the major awards at the Busan Theater Festival.
On May 6, Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) announced that "Artistreet," an ensemble formed by its alumni, received the Best Production Award, Playwriting Award, and Excellence in Acting Award at the 44th Busan Theater Festival.
The Best Production Award and Playwriting Award had not been awarded in the previous ceremony. The emergence of award-winning works after two years drew attention to the high level of completion of the production.
Artistreet, the Performing Arts Group from Dongseo University's Department of Acting, participated in the 44th Busan Theater Festival.

Park Sungjun (Class of 2013) served as writer and director, while Park Soyun (Class of 2017) received the Excellence in Acting Award. Numerous graduates from various years, including Kook Minyong, Yang Minwoo, Kim Sechin, and Kim Junil, also participated in the production.
The connection with the university continues as well. Artistreet is a family company of the Dongseo University Department of Acting. Through the RISE employment program and the Glocal University 30 Living Lab project, the group enhanced both the development and quality of their productions.
The university explained that its practice-oriented education and creative network contributed directly to these results. A representative of Dongseo University's Department of Acting stated, "Education based on text analysis and scene study from students' undergraduate days has translated into real-world outcomes," adding, "We will continue to support our graduates so they can remain active in the local arts ecosystem."
With this latest achievement, Artistreet has significantly raised its profile in the local performing arts scene.
