Human Technology is set to expand its presence in the European defense market through an integrated anti-drone solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
On May 6, the company announced that it has signed a consortium agreement with Rainbow Robotics, LexGen, Dabeo, Ninano Company, and Pion Electric to build ‘TOPA’, an AI-based integrated defense system aimed at entering the Romanian and Polish markets. Prior to this contract, Human Technology and its consortium partners established a cooperative framework by signing individual memorandums of understanding (MOUs).
The TOPA project is a next-generation integrated defense solution development initiative that combines aviation, robotics, and electronic technologies with AI at its core. In this project, Human Technology will provide its self-developed AI-based anti-drone system as a core module and will take the lead in designing the overall integrated solution.
The main target countries of this project, Romania and Poland, are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and are located in a geopolitical environment adjacent to Russia, which increases the need for enhanced defense capabilities. In particular, Poland is actively modernizing its military by investing more than 4% of its gross domestic product (GDP) in defense spending, while Romania is also expanding its equipment replacement programs in line with NATO standards. The size of the global defense market reached approximately $2.6 trillion last year, with growth of around 6-8% expected for this year as well.
With its participation in this consortium, Human Technology plans to secure ongoing projects and strengthen both direct and indirect marketing of its technologies and products in the European market. Additionally, the company aims to enhance its offset trade response capabilities and simultaneously pursue market leadership and global business expansion in key target countries.
A company representative stated, "This collaboration marks a significant turning point for launching into the global market with AI-based defense technology. By working with specialized companies in each field, we will enhance our competitiveness and achieve meaningful results in the European defense market."
This contract is particularly significant as it establishes a foundation for Human Technology to enter the European defense market with its AI anti-drone technology at the center.
