TPC Robotics is joining forces with a leading Chinese humanoid robot company to secure core component technologies and pursue joint development.
TPC Robotics, a specialist in AI autonomous manufacturing drive technology and robot parts (CEO: Uhm Jaeyoon), announced on May 6 that it had signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 27 with Zhejiang Hechuan Humanoid Robot Co., Ltd (HCBOT) of China. The deal includes the transfer, joint development, and production of key technologies for humanoid robot components such as actuators.
HCBOT is an affiliate established with an investment of approximately 1 billion yuan by Zhejiang Hechuan Technology Co., Ltd (HCFA), which is listed on the STAR Market (the Science and Technology Innovation Board) of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company specializes in industrial automation and robot parts and solutions, with a workforce of about 1,700 employees. HCBOT is dedicated to the development and production of humanoid robots and key components such as actuators, motors, sensors, and drivers.
Notably, the robot actuators and major components produced by HCBOT are supplied to Agibot, a humanoid and general-purpose robot company that ranked No. 1 in global market share as of 2025, thereby demonstrating HCBOT's technological prowess and mass production capabilities.
The two companies had previously signed a strategic cooperation and product supply agreement in February, showcasing SCARA robots, humanoid robots, and actuators for robots at the '2026 InterBattery Exhibition' in Korea. The latest agreement expands the scope of cooperation beyond simple product supply to include technology transfer, joint development, and production, making it particularly significant.
According to TPC Robotics, the company will combine HCFA and HCBOT’s core technologies with its own domestic manufacturing infrastructure and capabilities to establish a local production system for robot actuators, including motors, sensors, and drivers. In addition, by leveraging technology already proven in the Chinese market, the company plans to pursue customized joint development tailored to domestic and overseas customer demands, thereby securing both price competitiveness and product diversity.
Specifically, in phase one, the company will receive manufacturing process technology by the third quarter of this year and launch its own branded products. In phase two, by the fourth quarter of the same year, the partnership will be expanded to include the localization of some components and internalization of production technologies, as well as the establishment of a joint research center. By 2027, the goal is to build a fully localized production system and expand the business beyond actuators to a comprehensive robot solutions portfolio, including humanoid robots and automation packages.
Alongside these efforts, TPC Robotics is accelerating its transition to a robot-centered business. Following a turnaround to profitability in the fourth quarter of last year and continued improvement in performance, the company is working to build a next-generation manufacturing ecosystem, including signing a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Seojin Auto, a subsidiary of global manufacturing platform company Seojin System, for cooperation in robot foundry and AI autonomous manufacturing. The company has also changed its name from TPC Mechatronics to TPC Robotics and granted stock options to all employees, demonstrating a strengthened commitment to becoming a dedicated robotics company.
This collaboration marks a significant step for TPC Robotics in internalizing world-class core robotics technologies and securing competitiveness in the future manufacturing market centered on humanoid robots.
