Volvo Cars Korea is launching a limited edition model of its flagship SUV, the XC90, featuring a chic aesthetic, and will offer it for sale online.
On May 6, Volvo Cars Korea announced that starting at 10 a.m. on May 12, the company will sell the XC90 Black Edition on a first-come, first-served basis through the Volvo Cars Digital Shop, with only 55 units available.
The XC90 is the flagship SUV with the most awards in the brand's history, distinguished by its human-centric design philosophy. This Black Edition expands customer choice by offering 30 units of the mild hybrid (B6) and 25 units of the plug-in hybrid (T8) models.
The exterior features an Onyx Black color as standard, with black details applied to the front iron mark and rear lettering, creating a cohesive design. The interior also presents a more refined and chic atmosphere with a charcoal headlining and premium Nappa leather seats. In addition, next-generation user experience features, including an 11.2-inch high-resolution center display, and Volvo's safety space technology, are standard.
Driving performance is also powerful, befitting a flagship. The mild hybrid model delivers a maximum output of 300 horsepower, while the plug-in hybrid offers 462 horsepower and can drive up to 56 km in pure electric mode on a single charge. Based on the top-tier Ultra trim, air suspension comes as standard, and an exclusive pouch and keychain package are provided at no additional cost.
Yoonmo Lee, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, stated, "We are launching the XC90 Black Edition in a limited run of 55 units," adding, "We hope customers will select the model that best suits their lifestyle, whether mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid, and experience its sophisticated design and advanced features."
The retail price is set at 109 million won for the mild hybrid and 117.2 million won for the plug-in hybrid. Volvo Cars Korea provides industry-leading coverage, including a 5-year or 100,000 km general parts warranty and 15 years of free over-the-air updates as standard.
