The agency announced on May 6 that it will hold its inaugural "Specialized Training for Teachers Nationwide" in order to promote the importance of fair trade practices within school education. This initiative follows the agency's recent designation in March as a "Specialized Training Institution for the 2026 Academic Year" by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Teacher Training Institute.

The training will be held for three days, from August 4 to August 6, in the agency's main conference room in Jung-gu, Seoul, targeting 20 elementary, middle, and high school teachers from across the country. The program, titled "Easy-to-Understand Fair Trade Education," is centered on practical case studies that teachers can immediately apply in their classrooms. Core modules include: ▲ Cartel (bid-rigging) prevention through examples of school uniform bidding collusion; ▲ Learning about the Fair Trade Act and the Act on Labeling and Advertising through real-life cases; ▲ Fair trade guidelines for online platforms; ▲ Methods for teaching economic education to youth.

This training consists of a total of 15 hours and is free of charge. Applications can be submitted from May 6 to July 31 through the agency and the training institute's websites. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to teachers affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. There is no grading for this training; participants who attend at least 80% (12 hours) of the total duration will receive a certificate of completion. Notably, a large number of fair trade experts, including attorneys from leading Korean law firms such as Bae, Kim & Lee, Yulchon, Sejong, and Kim & Chang, will serve as instructors, enhancing the program’s expertise.

Choi Younggeun, President of the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency, stated, "This training, with the participation of experts in fair trade, will serve as an important opportunity to spread the value of a fair economy within the education field."

Established in 2007, the agency has carried out dispute mediation work to support small business operators who have suffered from unfair trade practices. It continues to promote a fair trade culture through various initiatives, including assessments of compliance program (CP) ratings and related institutional research.
