Now in its 20th year, this marathon is known as the "Boiled Pork Run" because, after completing the course, registered participants enjoy boiled pork slices (suyuk) and Makgeolli together. Thanks to its popularity on social networking services (SNS) such as blogs, Facebook, and Instagram, registration fills up almost immediately every year due to high competition.

The event features two courses: 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers. The 5-kilometer course starts at Anyangcheon Multipurpose Plaza, passes through Geumcheon Bridge, and turns back at Cheolsan Bridge; the 10-kilometer course uses Guro Station as the turnaround point. The total number of participants is 850.

This year's marathon will also feature experience booths and prize events sponsored by private companies. Sampling booths will offer "Saemi's Kitchen" broth kits by Sempio Foods and "Jipyeong Makgeolli" by Jipyeong Brewery. MG Siheung Saemaeul Geumgo will provide household products, while Himyung Hospital Medical Corporation will support the event with free health check-up vouchers and MRI scan certificates as prizes.

A Geumcheon District official stated, "Geumcheon District will continue to uphold its reputation as the original 'Boiled Pork Run' by ensuring safe and well-organized events," and added, "Rather than focusing on rankings, we hope all participants will enjoy the festival together as they share food and celebrate at the 'Boiled Pork Run.'"
