Mikyung Kim, the candidate for mayor of Eunpyeong District, announced her "Children's Smile Pledge" on May 5, Children's Day, which includes 12 detailed tasks across five key areas. This pledge marks the first series of Kim's signature "Smile Pledge" campaign.
The main points include: ▲ Creation of playgrounds such as resident-participation playgrounds, children's water playgrounds, and Aimom playgrounds ▲ Expansion of usage limits and coverage for Aimom Taxi and the introduction of the Seoul-style Walking School Bus ▲ Priority support for Aimom Counseling Centers for children with disabilities and their siblings, and expansion of emergency care services ▲ Introduction of play-based basic economic education, SNAG golf sports classes, and customized sex education programs tailored by age and level ▲ Establishment of the Eunpyeong-style concentrated birth congratulatory allowance for families with multiple children, and support for childbirth supplies through the "Welcome Baby!" program.
Among these, the Seoul-style Walking School Bus will be promoted in collaboration with Seoul mayoral candidate Wonoh Jeong as a project to strengthen safety along school routes. The Aimom Taxi will see its usage limits and coverage expanded, and will be linked with hospital escort services.
Candidate Mikyung Kim stated, "Through 23 years of public service, I have incorporated the sincere voices of parents I met on the ground into this pledge," adding, "I will dedicate all my efforts to making Eunpyeong a great place to raise children, where kids are happy and parents can feel at ease."
Kim plans to sequentially unveil additional "Smile Pledge" series tailored by generation and sector, starting with this first pledge.
