The rural basic income program in Cheongyang County, Chungnam Province, is serving as a significant catalyst for revitalizing the local economy.

According to evaluations, 78% of the total amount distributed-out of 8.5 billion won-has been spent across all areas within the county, driving a virtuous cycle in the local economy.

The county believes that the basic income functions as an economic vaccine, not only stabilizing residents' livelihoods but also reinvigorating the depressed local commercial sector.

A county official explained, "Cheongyang Love Basic Income Day is a campaign to encourage residents to actively spend their monthly basic income at local businesses."

Choi Euiho, head of the Rural Community Division, stated, "The rural basic income is an important policy tool that not only stabilizes residents' lives but also stimulates local consumption. Through the monthly 'Basic Income Day' and related challenges, we will foster a vibrant Cheongyang where residents and small business owners can prosper together."
