This initiative is a global program designed to support the payments ecosystem in the era of agentic commerce. In the initial stage of the program, card issuers can test and validate agent-led transactions in a controlled, real-world environment, while systematically understanding the related technologies and processes. In particular, by directly experiencing the process in which AI agents initiate and complete payments on behalf of consumers, companies can assess their readiness for agentic commerce.

To implement agentic commerce at scale, collaboration across the entire payments ecosystem is essential. Accordingly, Visa is expanding the program together with major partners in the Asia-Pacific region. In Korea, six companies are participating: KB Kookmin Card, Samsung Card, Shinhan Card, KakaoBank, Hana Card, and Hyundai Card. The number of participating partners is expected to continue increasing throughout this year.

Patrick Storey, President of Visa Korea, said, "Korea and the Asia-Pacific region are among the most dynamic and digitally advanced payment technology markets in the world, making them ideal environments for implementing agentic commerce." He added, "Large-scale expansion will occur when the entire payments ecosystem moves forward together." He further emphasized, "The Visa Agentic Ready program provides important support by enabling issuers to test, learn, and prepare for agent-based payments in a controlled environment, helping the industry to continue innovating with trust as AI transforms everyday commerce."
