Sandwich franchise Subway will raise its menu prices starting May 7. The price of the signature Egg Mayo sandwich (15cm) will increase from 5,900 won to 6,200 won.
On April 30, Subway announced that the average price of its most popular item, the 15cm sandwich, will be raised by 210 won, or approximately 2.8%. The price hike will apply to sandwiches, sides, and beverages, while other single beverages and set menus will be adjusted by between 100 and 200 won.
Accordingly, the price of the 15cm Italian BMT will be adjusted from 7,200 won to 7,500 won, while the price of the Jambon sandwich will remain unchanged. The cookie, a side menu item, will increase by 100 won from 1,500 won to 1,600 won.
A Subway representative stated, "Due to the continued rise in ingredient costs and the increased burden on franchise operations, we had no other choice but to adjust prices. We have minimized the extent of the increase through internal cost reductions and will continue to offer consumers more diverse options through value-for-money menu items."
