The apartment complex where the largest number of CEOs from Korea’s top 500 companies reside is DH Firstier I-Park, located in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This complex is home to 11 CEOs from major domestic companies, including Roh Taemoon, President of Samsung Electronics.
According to a survey by the corporate data research institute CEO Score, which examined the addresses listed in the corporate registry for 640 CEOs of the top 500 companies, as of April this year, the most common residential complex among the CEOs was DH Firstier I-Park.
The residents of this apartment include Roh Taemoon, President of Samsung Electronics; Park Sanghyun, President of Doosan Enerbility; Lee Seokhee, President of SK On; Nam Jeongwoon, CEO of Hanwha Solutions; Choi Sooyeon, President of NAVER; Kim Daeil, CEO of Korea Seven; Kim Mintae, Vice President of Kolon Industries; Lee Yongbae, President of Hyundai Rotem; Jang Yongho, President of SK Inc.; Seo Jinseok, CEO of Celltrion; and Kim Byunggyu, CEO of Netmarble. In total, 11 CEOs are confirmed to reside in this complex.
Next, at Nine One Hannam in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, eight CEOs live there, including Jang Deokhyun, President of Samsung Electro-Mechanics; Park Joohwan, Chairman of TKG Taekwang; Kang Daehyun, CEO of Nexon Korea; Kim Changsoo, Chairman of F&F; Hyun Jiho, Vice Chairman of Hwaseung Corporation; Choi Sungwon, Chairman of Kwangdong Pharmaceutical; Ban Hol, CEO of Corning Precision Materials; and Cho Jeongho, President of Daechang.
At Raemian Prestige in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, seven CEOs reside, including Kim Seonghwan, President of Korea Investment & Securities; Cho Won-tae, Chairman of Korean Air; Lee Changhwang, Vice President of Hyosung TNC; Kim Ikhwan, Vice Chairman of Hansae Co. Ltd.; Koo Chanwoo, President of Daebang Construction; Jeong Hyun, Vice President of Gaon Cable; and Jang Sejoon, Vice Chairman of Korea Circuit.
At Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, five CEOs live there, including Hong Beomsik, President of LG Uplus; Koo Donghui, President of LS MnM; Kim Kwangil, CEO of Homeplus; Lee Woosung, President of SGC Energy; and Yoo Sangcheol, CEO of HJ Shipbuilding & Construction.
In the Gyeonggi region, four CEOs reside in ‘Pangyo Prugio Granble’ in Baekhyeon-dong, Bundang-gu: Kim Miseob, Vice Chairman of Mirae Asset Securities; Shim Sangpil, CEO of SEMES; Choi Kyung, Vice Chairman of Cosmax; and Won Yoohyun, Vice Chairman of Daedong. Among the top-ranking complexes, this was the only one located in Gyeonggi Province.
By region, 586 out of 640 CEOs (91.6%) live in the Seoul metropolitan area. Within this area, Seoul has the largest share with 429 CEOs (67.0%), followed by Gyeonggi Province with 152 (23.8%) and Incheon with 5 (0.8%). Within Seoul, Gangnam-gu tops the list with 107 CEOs (24.9%), followed by Seocho-gu with 73 (17.0%), Yongsan-gu with 56 (13.1%), and Songpa-gu with 36 (8.4%).
In non-metropolitan areas, 54 CEOs (8.4%) reside. Busan has the highest number at 11 (1.7%), followed by South Gyeongsang Province and Ulsan with 7 each (1.1%), South Jeolla Province and North Jeolla Province with 5 each (0.8%), and North Gyeongsang Province and Daegu with 4 each (0.6%).
