A residential complex with a capacity of 4,900 households will be developed on the north side of Bubal Station in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced on April 30 that it has given final approval for the designation of the development zone and the establishment of the development plan for the 'Icheon Bubal Station North District Urban Development Project,' as requested by Icheon City.
This project aims to create a residential complex capable of accommodating 4,900 households, or 11,760 people, on approximately 520,000 square meters of land north of Bubal Station in Icheon. The total project cost is estimated at KRW 25.77 billion, and the area will be developed into a mixed-use urban space equipped with commercial and various infrastructure facilities.
Bubal Station, a key transportation hub where the Gyeonggang Line and Jungbunaeryuk Line intersect, is expected to see high demand for residential-work proximity due to the presence of IT companies, including SK hynix, in the vicinity. As a result, there are high expectations that an integrated city where housing, jobs, and transportation are organically connected can be realized.
Previously, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government included this project in the '2040 Gyeonggi Western and Eastern SOC Grand Development Initiative' in March 2025.
With this approval, the project is expected to significantly strengthen the role of the eastern Gyeonggi region as a growth hub through station-area development and contribute greatly to balanced regional development.
Kim Heeseong, Director of Urban Policy at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "This is a core project that will drive sustainable urban growth in the eastern Gyeonggi region. Through systematic implementation planning and prompt administrative procedures, we will achieve results that local residents can truly experience."
