Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group Posts Q1 Operating Profit of 111 Billion Won, Down 30% Year-on-Year

Impact of One-Off Costs and Large-Scale Project Completions

SAMSUNG C&T Corporation Engineering & Construction Group announced on April 29 that it recorded sales of 3.413 trillion won and operating profit of 111 billion won in the first quarter of this year.

Due to the recognition of one-off costs and the completion of large-scale projects, these figures represented a decrease of 5.7% and 30.2%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Compared to the previous quarter, sales fell by 15.6%, while operating profit declined by 25%.

A representative from SAMSUNG C&T stated, “Sales and operating profit decreased year-on-year due to the recognition of one-off costs and the impact of large-scale project completions,” adding, “Gradual improvement in performance is expected, driven by the stable progress of key businesses.”
