This initiative is a national strategic project that aims to respond to changes in the agricultural structure, such as abnormal weather and the decline in the rural workforce, by transforming existing smart agriculture into an AI and robotics-based intelligent farming system.

Together with Jeollanam-do Province, the county will form a consortium centered around Daedong, LG CNS, Daeyoung GS, and Artfarm Agricultural Corporation to implement the project.

The total project budget amounts to 254.6 billion won, including 43.9 billion won in national funding. A public-private joint special purpose company (SPC) will be established, and over the next five years, an AI agriculture forward base will be built throughout the Haeje-myeon area.

In addition, the 115 billion won "Agriculture AX Innovation Infrastructure Project," which was confirmed last year, will also be promoted in parallel. Starting in 2026, this project will sequentially establish an Agriculture AX Demonstration Center, a Global Business Center, and an AI-based Growth Support Data Center. The core focus is to advance both agricultural technology demonstration and industrialization.

Through these efforts, the county plans to apply precision agriculture technologies utilizing robotics and artificial intelligence in the field, and to establish a future-oriented agricultural ecosystem that connects production, distribution, and export.

Nam Jeongho, Head of the Crop and Horticulture Division of Muan County, stated, "Through the National Agriculture AX Platform and the infrastructure project, we will develop Muan as the central hub for the AI-driven agricultural transformation of Korea," adding, "We aim to lay the foundation for advanced future agriculture and enhance the competitiveness of local agriculture."

Meanwhile, Muan also expects this project to stimulate the local economy by increasing agricultural productivity, attracting young farmers, and creating agricultural jobs.
