Hanma Educational Foundation (Kyungnam University) held a board meeting at 3:00 p.m. on April 29 in the International Seminar Room of the university's main building and appointed Mira Han, a current board member, as the new chairperson.

Mira Han, the new chairperson, has served as a professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education at Kyungnam University and has held key administrative positions including Dean of Student Affairs, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Special Advisor to the President. Externally, she has contributed to educational advancement and the enhancement of regional education policies by serving as Vice President of the Korea Childcare Support Association, President of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam chapter of the Korea Early Childhood Education Association, an advisory member on the Early Childhood Education Curriculum at the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education, and Chairperson of the Gyeongsangnam-do Childcare Policy Committee.
Drawing on her extensive experience in both educational practice and university administration, Mira Han is expected to focus on ensuring the stable management of Hanma Educational Foundation and laying the groundwork for the sustainable development of Kyungnam University.
In particular, as Kyungnam University marks its 80th anniversary this year, the institution is striving to succeed its history and tradition while implementing innovations to respond to changes in the future higher education landscape. Through Hanma Educational Foundation, the university aims to support a new leap forward by advancing educational innovation, securing financial soundness, expanding cooperation with the local community, and strengthening global competitiveness.
Chairperson Han stated, "Building on the proud 80-year history of Kyungnam University, I will prepare for the next 100 years together with the university community, alumni, and the local community," adding, "I will do my utmost to ensure that Kyungnam University becomes an innovative institution where students grow and the region prospers together, and which meets the demands of the times."
