According to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation (headed by Ho Sik Yoo), various interactive events will be held at 32 expressway rest areas in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk region for child customers, including the distribution of gift packages, character balloons, and a roulette prize draw.

This event has been planned to offer children a joyful break during long journeys and to create special memories for families spending time together at rest areas.

During the holiday period, when vehicles line up along the expressways, the rest areas will be transformed from simple rest stops into small festival grounds where families can have fun together.

In particular, customized food services for customers with young children stand out. The Daegu and Gyeongbuk headquarters offers a dedicated infant menu called “Ongaol Ongaol Mamma,” available at all times for 1,500 won.

This menu includes rice, seaweed, fried egg, and one side dish such as black bean sauce, all of which are popular with children, with a focus on reducing the dining burden for parents.

In celebration of Children’s Day, customers who order “Ongaol Ongaol Mamma” on May 4 and 5 will also receive a popular character-themed beverage.

An official from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation stated, “We will do our utmost to expand facilities and increase service staff to ensure a pleasant travel experience for expressway users during the holiday period,” and added, “With higher traffic expected, we urge everyone to take sufficient breaks and drive safely.”

During the Children’s Day holiday, expressway rest areas become more than just brief stops. For children, they turn into playgrounds that heighten the excitement of travel, and for parents, they become lifestyle service spaces that ease the fatigue of the journey. This event demonstrates that rest area services are evolving from providing simple convenience to becoming family-friendly public services.
