Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. is introducing a variety of convenient desserts on the basement first floor of its main building to coincide with the full-fledged spring outing season. The store is attracting customers with everything from visually striking desserts made with the trending purple "ube" among Millennials & Gen Z, to easy-to-eat finger foods.


'Soultieg' is extremely popular, with lines forming throughout the day, as it makes its desserts in-house using honest, high-quality ingredients such as antibiotic-free eggs, 100% animal-based fresh cream, and natural Tahitian vanilla. Its signature item is a giant egg tart, notable for its large size, crispy pastry, and moist filling.


In particular, the purple ube egg tart, a trending item among Millennials & Gen Z that is perfect for social media photos, has become especially popular.

The purple ube craze can also be seen at 'Knotted'.


The 'Ube Latte' is a non-coffee latte filled with the sweet and nutty flavor of Philippine ube. The rich taste of purple ube syrup blends harmoniously with milk, making it a hit among customers.


The 'Butter Rice Cake 5-piece Set,' perfect for taking on an outing, allows you to enjoy five different flavors: chewy butter-flavored rice cake, chocolate with sweet cream, injeolmi, raspberry, and matcha butter rice cake.


'Tamanoka,' a specialty shop for aged fermented butter castella from Tokyo, Japan, is also drawing customers with its savory butter aroma.


Tamanoka uses French aged butter for a premium buttery taste and offers castella in a 3cm round finger food shape, perfect for enjoying on the go. There are a total of five flavors: classic butter, lemon, strawberry, salt, and double chocolate chip.
