Democratic Party Recruits Former Blue House Aides Jung Woo Ha and Eun Soo Jeon as Candidates for Busan Buk-gap and Asan, South Chungcheong

Second Talent Recruitment Ceremony Held on April 29

The Democratic Party of Korea has recruited Jung Woo Ha, former Chief Future Planning Officer for Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Blue House, and Eunsoo Jeon, former Blue House spokesperson, as new talents for the upcoming parliamentary by-elections scheduled for June 3, 2026. They are expected to be strategically nominated for the constituencies of Buk-gu Gap in Busan and Asan in South Chungcheong Province, respectively.

At the second talent recruitment ceremony on April 29, Democratic Party leader Chung Cheongrae introduced former Chief Ha, saying, "I wanted to bring him on board so badly that I would have visited him thirty times if necessary. Seeing him here with us today feels like a dream come true."

Chung emphasized, "Former Chief Ha was born in Buk-gu, Busan and attended elementary, middle, and high school all in Buk-gu, making him a true native of Busan. Because he knows his hometown better than anyone, he is the right person to solve Busan’s issues with clarity and insight."

He continued, "If former Chief Ha has played the role of architect for Korea becoming one of the world’s top three AI powers, now he needs to complete the legislative process in the National Assembly. I expect that he will bring the various visions for an AI powerhouse he has developed-what we call 'HaGPT'-to fruition by enacting relevant legislation in parliament."

Chung also said, "Completing the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (BUK) megacity project and helping Busan become a maritime capital is as complex as solving a high-level equation. But I am confident that former Chief Ha will find the right answer with clarity."

Introducing former spokesperson Jeon, who was the seventh talent recruited for the last general election, as an internally promoted talent, Chung said, "She is a person full of energy and passion. She ran in the previous Ulsan election and moved and inspired many people."

He added, "Above all, she has been trained in the heart of national administration. When President Lee Jaemyung was party leader, she served as a top official of the Democratic Party, and during the last presidential election, she led the youth division of the central campaign headquarters, laying the foundation for victory."

Former Chief Ha stated, "Having completed my role in establishing the national AI strategy, I am now heading to Busan and the National Assembly. By multiplying the maritime capital by physical AI, I want to restore Busan’s glory with the clear formula of 'Busan Great Transformation.' I also want to contribute to ushering in an era where Korea is one of the world’s top three AI powers."

He added, "I want to transform from a designer into a practitioner. Now is the golden time for great transformation and leap forward. Please watch the new growth that Lee Jaemyung, Jeon Jaesoo, and I will create together."

Former spokesperson Jeon said, "Instead of standing behind the microphone in the briefing room, I will go out into the field to hear the voices of the people directly. The firm resolve I had while communicating President Lee Jaemyung’s concern for the people’s livelihoods to the public, I will now put into practice in my community."
