Busan Nuclear Industry Expo Sets New Records in Scale and Achievements... 470 Export Consultations Conducted

134 Companies from 20 Countries, Largest Scale Ever

Overseas Buyers Expand to 50 Companies

The 2026 Busan International Nuclear Industry Expo, held at BEXCO in Busan, made history. Concluding after three days, the exhibition set new records in both participation scale and export consultation achievements.

The event, hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum and organized by BEXCO, took place from April 22 to April 24 in Exhibition Hall 1. A total of 134 companies from 20 countries around the world participated, operating 420 booths. Both the number of participating companies and the exhibition scale increased compared to the previous year.

Export consultation results also expanded significantly. The number of overseas buyers rose from 8 last year to 50 this year. As a result, 470 consultations were conducted for small and medium-sized enterprises, with the total consultation amount reaching 544 million dollars. This is about three times higher than the 120 consultations recorded last year. This trend is interpreted as a sign that opportunities for Korean companies to expand overseas have increased amid the global nuclear power market recovery.

The industry base has also broadened. For the first time, mid-sized companies from the Busan and Gyeongnam regions, such as Taewoong and SeAH Changwon Special Steel, participated. The Busan Metropolitan Government’s joint exhibition hall for local companies was also operated for the first time. It is evaluated that the event went beyond a simple exhibition and contributed to expanding the region-based industrial ecosystem.

On-site programs were also strengthened. These included a power and nuclear equipment purchasing consultation, an overseas buyer invitation consultation, and a mutual growth business briefing session. There were also sessions for sharing global market information, such as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power’s presentation on the Czech nuclear power project, a Quebec nuclear industry seminar, and a presentation by France’s APAVE on European regulatory trends.

Lee Junseung, CEO of BEXCO, stated, "The increased presence of overseas buyers and growth in consultation results have confirmed the exhibition’s contribution to the industry," adding, "We will further develop this event into a business-focused exhibition linked to the global nuclear power market."

This year’s exhibition is being evaluated as more than just an expansion in scale; it has become a gateway for the Korean nuclear industry’s overseas expansion and a platform for inter-company cooperation.
