The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (President Koh Hoyoun) announced that, in order to strengthen the global competitiveness of Korean medicine, it is accepting applications from organizations to carry out the "Korean Medicine Overseas Export Support Project" from April 24 to May 11, 2026.
This project, with a total budget of 236 million won, will select approximately four organizations across three support areas: ▲overseas export of Korean medicine products, ▲overseas education in Korean medicine, and ▲clinical training in Korean medicine.
The overseas export of Korean medicine products area provides comprehensive support for the entire commercialization process, from market research and overseas certification to securing intellectual property rights, export contracts, and marketing, for the overseas expansion of Korean medicine products (pharmaceuticals and medical devices).
Manufacturers and sellers of Korean medicine products wishing to export overseas may apply either individually or as part of a consortium with related industries.
The overseas education area supports the development and operation of Korean medicine educational programs for overseas medical students.
Specialized Korean medicine educational institutions, such as colleges of Korean medicine and graduate schools of Korean medicine, are eligible to participate.
The clinical training area supports the development and operation of clinical training programs in Korean medicine for overseas medical professionals.
Through this, the institute aims to transfer clinical techniques and treatment protocols in Korean medicine and establish local cooperation networks.
The call for proposals is open to Korean medicine medical institutions.
Selected organizations will receive project funding of up to approximately 80 million won per project, depending on the characteristics of the assignment. The project period runs from the date of contract signing until December 15, 2026.
Certain projects may be eligible for extension, subject to performance evaluation.
Choyongjun, Head of the Globalization Center at the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, stated, "Through the Korean Medicine Overseas Export Support Project, we will promote the overseas expansion of Korean medicine products and enhance international competitiveness by linking education and clinical training. We look forward to the active participation of organizations with professionalism and capability."
Institutions wishing to participate in this call for proposals should check the application documents in the notice section on the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development website and submit them via email to the person in charge.
