Dotmill, a content-based spatial solutions company, is set to unveil a nighttime attraction that offers a modern reinterpretation of Gangneung's traditional place names. The company announced that it will release the “Hasla Gangneung Immersive Art Show,” produced in collaboration with Gangneung City, as a preview on May 2.

This project stands out for going beyond simple landscape lighting, aiming instead to provide an interactive, participatory experience for visitors. Jointly planned with Gangneung City, the program seeks to establish a new nighttime tourism attraction rooted in the region’s history and local legends.

The core of the content is the legend of “The Five Moons of Gyeongpodae,” a story associated with Gyeongpo Lake. The immersive show, inspired by this legend, features an 8-meter-tall LED structure at its center, surrounded by approximately 300 lighting fixtures, high-end projection mapping technology, and interactive sensors. Rather than simply appreciating visual elements, visitors can directly experience the narrative within the work through a variety of interactive features.

With the concept of “Hasla: The Ancient Legends of Gangneung Awakened Beneath the Five Moonlights,” this project is expected to become a new nighttime tourism landmark for Gangneung. It is also highly regarded for its potential to create added value by utilizing the region’s cultural assets.

The musical direction features Park Dawool, a geomungo player from the group KARDI, known for participating in “Superband 2.” He reinterpreted Korean melodies in a contemporary style, creating a rich emotional presentation that blends seamlessly with Dotmill’s media technology.

Haewoon Jung, CEO of Dotmill, stated, “The key to this project lies in expanding beyond traditional forest-based nighttime attractions to transform the entire space into a single stage. We aim to provide visitors to Gangneung with an immersive nighttime artistic experience on a whole new level.”
