Daegu City Wins Prime Minister's Commendation in Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation... Secures Special Allocation Tax Incentive of 130 Million Won

On April 29, Daegu City received the Prime Minister's Institutional Commendation at the "2025 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation Awards Ceremony" held at the Government Sejong Complex Central Building, and secured a special allocation tax incentive of 130 million won as a financial performance bonus.

In this evaluation, Daegu City was highly praised for its multifaceted efforts to establish citizen-centered administrative services, including improvements to the civil service administration system, protection of civil service staff, and prompt handling of complaints submitted through the e-People petition portal.

As a result, Daegu City achieved the highest score among the 17 metropolitan and provincial governments nationwide, earning an "A" grade and the honor of being selected as an excellent institution for civil service administration.

This evaluation, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, comprehensively assessed the past year's performance of 308 institutions nationwide, including central government agencies, local governments, and provincial and metropolitan education offices.

The assessment was based on 21 indicators across five categories: civil service administration strategy and system, civil service system operation, handling of complaints through the e-People portal, handling of grievance petitions, and civil service satisfaction. Institutions were classified into five grades, from "A" to "E," according to the ranking within each type of institution.

Daegu City plans to continue improving systems to enhance the quality of civil service so that citizens can feel the benefits firsthand, and to further strengthen on-site civil service administration, including enhanced protection for civil service staff.

Kim Jeonggi, Acting Mayor and Vice Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Daegu City, stated, "This award is the result of actively pursuing civil service policies and improving the environment of civil service offices to promote citizen-centered administration. We will not be satisfied with this achievement but will continue to improve civil service systems closely related to citizens' daily lives in order to provide faster and friendlier services."
