The Gwacheon National Science Museum will hold an interactive science event that combines hands-on experiences, performances, and lectures to celebrate Children's Day.
On April 29, the museum announced that it will host a commemorative event under the theme "Science Therapy - Healing with Enjoyable Science!" on May 5. A total of 40 programs across six fields will be held throughout the museum.
The event is centered around visitor participation content. The "Oh!pen World" area will offer self-directed experiences, while "Oh! Zone" will feature performances and events simultaneously. The "Oh! My Maker" section will provide hands-on activities such as making polymer elastic balls, planetary mood lamps, and space slime. There will also be a costume parade, a family O·X quiz, and an electric vehicle experience for children.
Special lectures will be given by Wonhoon Kim and science communicator Gwedoga. The Children's Science Theater Festival will also take place as part of the event.
Shin Jaesik, acting director of the museum, stated, "We have prepared the event so that science can be experienced easily and enjoyably," and added, "We hope families can create special memories together."
