Gangjin and Namyangju Sign Agreement to Jointly Operate the "Jeong Yak-yong Educational Curriculum"

Sharing Historical Foundations as Dasan’s Place of Exile and Main Area of Activity

"An Opportunity to Expand the Spirit of Silhak in the Educational Field"

Gangjin in Jeonnam Province and Namyangju in Gyeonggi Province have joined forces to operate educational programs based on the spirit of Jeong Yak-yong. On the 28th, the Gangjin Dasan Museum, Gangjin Office of Education, Guri-Namyangju Office of Education in Gyeonggi Province, and the Silhak Museum signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on operating the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong educational curriculum.


This agreement was signed at the Gangjin Dasan Museum and marks the third MOU since 2022. It is significant as it represents the ongoing establishment of a collaborative educational network utilizing regional resources related to Dasan.

Under this agreement, each institution will cooperate in the joint development of educational content related to Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, the operation of student experience and field trip programs, teacher training and sharing of educational materials, and the promotion of educational exchanges between regions.


Gangjin and Namyangju each share a historical foundation as Dasan’s place of exile and his main area of activity, respectively. The director of the Dasan Museum expressed hope that this agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the spirit of Silhak into the educational field.
