A commotion broke out at a hotel in Zimbabwe, Africa, when a crocodile appeared on the premises. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the crocodile was safely captured and released back into its natural habitat.
According to ABC News in the United States and other reports on April 27 (local time), a large crocodile measuring 3.6 meters in length was spotted at a hotel in Zimbabwe on April 24.
Video footage of the incident shows the crocodile moving through the hotel’s reception area and lounge, eventually making its way to the kitchen. The recording even captured the crocodile struggling to climb onto the kitchen counter.
It is believed that the crocodile entered the hotel from the nearby Zambezi River. One hotel guest shared, "According to the waiters, the crocodile walked in as confidently as if it were a guest."
The crocodile was identified as a Nile crocodile. Nile crocodiles, which primarily inhabit Africa’s riverbanks, can grow up to 4.2 meters long and weigh as much as 700 kilograms. As one of Africa's top predators, they prey on virtually all mammals and are classified as highly dangerous animals due to their extremely aggressive nature. They are also known as notorious 'man-eating crocodiles' that sometimes attack humans.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties. The crocodile was captured by a dispatched wildlife rescue team and safely released back into its habitat.
