According to Chonnam National University on April 29, the university has been offering 'AI-Driven Administrative Innovation Training' for all staff and teaching assistants since April, aiming to embed AI technology as a core element of administrative capabilities.

This training is systematically designed and operated in two tracks-a common course and a general course-with the goal of establishing a framework for administrative innovation through digital transformation and practical application of AI technology in university operations.

The common course, which was held in March, covered topics such as 'Recent Issues in AI Ethics, Law, and Policy' and 'Life Coaching from Philosophers', with around 570 staff and teaching assistants participating. The sessions focused on fostering an understanding of AI and shifting perceptions.

The general course, ongoing since April, is tailored to specific job functions and centers on strengthening practical AI skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace.

To minimize any work disruptions due to participation in the training, Chonnam National University has designated the second week of every month as 'Training Week'. Staff members participate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while teaching assistants attend on Mondays and Wednesdays. In addition, four specialized tracks, closely linked to actual job responsibilities by position, are being operated.

Staff members complete tracks in: ▲Document and HR Administration ▲Basic and Advanced ▲Data Analysis, Budget, and Accounting ▲Academic Affairs, General Affairs, and Facilities. Teaching assistants complete tracks in: ▲Basic and Advanced ▲Educational Support and Student Counseling ▲Research and Experiment Support ▲Data Analysis and Thesis Writing.

Kim Kyungbaek, Director of the Office of Informatization, stated, "AI is not just a tool for specific departments. True innovation across the entire university begins when all members integrate AI into their work. This training will serve as the starting point." He added, "We hope that the use of AI will move beyond simple experience to yield tangible results such as automating repetitive administrative tasks, enabling data-driven decision-making, and enhancing research productivity."

Meanwhile, the Office of Informatization at Chonnam National University plans to continuously collect and analyze case studies of on-site application from training participants, share outstanding cases with all departments, and establish a cyclical improvement system by reflecting these cases in future training programs.
