Goheung County, "Let's Work Together for Dementia Prevention by Walking Along Nampalanggil"

Goheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin), announced that on April 25, it held the '2026 Dementia Overcoming Walk Event' along Nampalanggil in Duwon-myeon with local residents to share the importance of dementia prevention and strengthen the commitment to overcoming it.

This event was organized to encourage physical activity among seniors by walking along Nampalanggil, which showcases Goheung's beautiful natural scenery, and to raise social awareness about dementia with the aim of creating a "Healthy Goheung Free from Dementia Worries."

Goheung County held the "2026 Dementia Overcoming Walking Event" on the 25th along Nampareungil in Duwon-myeon to share the importance of dementia prevention with the residents and to strengthen their resolve to overcome the disease. Provided by Goheung County

The highlight of this year's event was the 'Writing Messages of Support for Overcoming Dementia' corner, in which residents directly participated. Participants wrote hopeful messages or witty words of encouragement for dementia patients and their families, and posted them on a bulletin board themselves.

Through this, the perception that dementia is not just an individual's problem but a challenge that the entire local community must embrace together was further spread.

An official from the county health center said, "We hope the Dementia Overcoming Walk Event provided comfort to families of dementia patients and became a meaningful time for residents to take care of their health. We will continue to work hard to create a dementia-friendly environment in the future."
