It is also intended to meet transportation demand between new city areas such as Namak and Oryong and the surrounding rural communities.
Route 888 will start from Oryong Districts 1 and 2 and Namak New City, passing through major apartment complexes, schools, markets, and churches, then circulate through Samhyang, Illo, Mongtan, and Muan before returning to the starting point.
Three buses will be deployed on the new route, operating 12 times per day. The interval between buses will be adjusted between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the time of day. In particular, during periods of high usage by students and office workers, the number of operations will be increased to enhance convenience.
The county expects that the launch of this route will improve public transportation accessibility between the new city and rural areas, significantly enhancing the convenience of residents' mobility.
A county official stated, "Since the new route was introduced to reflect residents' needs, we believe it will have a practical effect on improving transportation convenience. We will continue to analyze traffic volume and public feedback to further enhance public transportation services."
Meanwhile, Muan plans to address regional transportation disparities by expanding public bus routes and improving overall operations.
