The Ecological Stream Restoration Public-Private Council is a consultative body in which both the private sector and the government participate and make joint efforts to restore the original functions and ecological health of the stream. The council consists of 22 members across five sectors: citizens, civic groups, experts, city council members, and administrators.

This inspection was conducted to confirm the planned construction site for the Sapasoh Stream ecological restoration project, following a suggestion made at the 1st Ecological Stream Restoration Public-Private Council meeting held in March 2026.

The main focus of the project is to restore a 0.98 km section, from the Beopwon Intersection in Sapadong, Seongsan-gu to the confluence with the Towol Stream, by removing the concrete bed and revetment structures and restoring the stream as an ecological waterway using eco-friendly construction methods.

This on-site inspection was organized to further specify the design direction of the Sapasoh Stream ecological restoration project and to directly examine the planned construction site. Nine members of the public-private council, including representatives from civic groups and experts, attended to review the current terrain and stream conditions in the main restoration area and to discuss the future direction of the project.

Yu Jeong Lee, Director of the Climate and Environment Bureau, stated, "Through the creation of an ecological stream in the urban Sapasoh Stream, we hope not only to restore the stream ecosystem, but also to improve the quality of life for local residents. We will do our best to reflect the opinions of the Ecological Stream Restoration Public-Private Council to achieve a successful ecological restoration and deliver better results."
