On April 28, the Gyeongnam ESG Practice Headquarters officially announced its support for Kwon Sungi, a preliminary candidate in the Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education election.

The organization cited the complex crises of the climate emergency, social conflict, and the shift in the educational paradigm, stating that Kwon was the right person to lead "ESG-based educational innovation."
In its press statement that day, the Gyeongnam ESG Practice Headquarters stated, "Education can no longer be confined to the delivery of knowledge; it must play a key role in preparing for a sustainable future," adding, "ESG, which encompasses the values of environment, society, and governance, is now a standard that must be implemented in the field of education as well."
The organization paid particular attention to Kwon’s background and policy direction. The Gyeongnam ESG Practice Headquarters commented, "Candidate Kwon is prepared to present a vision for future education aligned with the era of AI, based on his extensive educational experience and understanding of science and technology," adding, "His student-centered educational philosophy and plans for educational innovation are deeply aligned with ESG values."
The group further emphasized, "To ensure Gyeongnam education moves in a sustainable direction, it is necessary to go beyond simple institutional reforms and implement a structural transformation of the entire educational system," stressing that "Candidate Kwon will establish a new ESG-based educational paradigm and realize responsible education for future generations."
Along with the announcement of its support, the Gyeongnam ESG Practice Headquarters also vowed, "We will actively cooperate for the sustainable development of Gyeongnam education and innovation in future education," calling for the interest and participation of the residents of the province.
