A representative from the federation explained, "This meeting was organized to share the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' policy direction regarding the special act, which was implemented last month," adding, "It was arranged to discuss major issues raised during the regional promotion of offshore wind power projects."

During the meeting, the federation presented 'Key Issues and Response Strategies During the Transitional Period Following the Implementation of the Special Act,' identifying the following tasks: orderly incorporation of existing projects into the framework of the special act; identifying balanced sites while considering the public nature of marine spaces; and the formation of public-private councils that guarantee substantial participation by fishers.

Hwang Junseong, Director General of the Marine Environment Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, stated, "With the implementation of the Offshore Wind Power Special Act, it is an important time for the system to take root, so we will carefully listen to opinions from the field in each region and continue to consult closely with the fisheries industry."

The series of regional meetings began in Ulsan and will take place later this month in Busan and Gyeongnam, followed by additional meetings next month in Jeonnam and in the Chungcheong and Jeonbuk regions.
