More than 40 export companies from the province attended the briefing, which focused on risk management for each stage of the export-import logistics process, strategies to reduce costs in response to changes in the global logistics environment, the structure of maritime transport rates, and key checkpoints.
In particular, beyond simply providing information, one-on-one customized consulting sessions were held for companies that pre-registered, with logistics experts and customs and trade specialists participating for each major route, including the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
Through this, the event directly identified logistics challenges faced by each company and proposed practical solutions to respond to changes in the export environment, receiving positive feedback from the field.
Export-related organizations in the province have established a cooperation system and continuously monitored the situation to support companies exporting to the Middle East.
On March 31, a joint consultation meeting was held for the emergency support of Middle East export companies to identify difficulties on the ground, and this latest briefing is a follow-up action that further details logistics risk response strategies, which were identified as a major area of concern at that time.
The province and related organizations plan to continue providing follow-up support such as assistance with logistics cost reduction and overseas logistics consulting, actively supporting the stable entry of provincial exporters into overseas markets.
Kim Manho, Director of Economic Affairs at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "As instability in the Middle East continues, companies are facing ongoing burdens such as rising logistics costs and supply chain disruptions. Based on the on-site response measures presented at this briefing and consultation meeting, we will further strengthen cooperation with export-related organizations and continue to provide support that companies can truly feel."
Hong Seungbeom, Head of the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, said, "With growing logistics uncertainties due to the recent Middle East situation, we will actively support the province's companies in taking preemptive measures to mitigate risks."
