The Donggang University RISE Project Group announced on April 28 that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Alps at Jangwon Hall on the first floor of the main building to foster key talent in the future mobility industry and strengthen employment connections.

Korea Alps is a leading global manufacturer based in the Gwangju Hanam Industrial Complex, producing automotive electronic components and advanced electronic parts as a representative company of the region.

The company has recently enhanced its competitiveness in core future vehicle parts by expanding its research and development (R&D) capabilities and increasing its manufacturing facilities. In particular, Korea Alps is contributing to the advancement of the regional industrial ecosystem by boosting production of high value-added parts such as automotive switches, sensors, and electronic modules.

Donggang University, in partnership with Korea Alps, plans to design curricula that reflect industry site demands to improve students' job suitability, as well as expand company visits and hands-on training programs to increase the practical effectiveness of employment connections.

Wi Hyeongdo, head of the Donggang University RISE Project Group, stated, "This agreement marks an important starting point that organically links the electronic parts industry-a core sector of future mobility development emphasized by Gwangju Metropolitan City-with university education. We will actively support Donggang University students so that they can grow into practical talents equipped with competitiveness at the sites of regional strategic industries."

Korea Alps Executive Director Park Yong-hyun said, "Through cooperation with Donggang University, we will discover outstanding talent needed in the industrial field at an early stage and create a foundation for young people to settle in Gwangju and grow."
