Goheung-gun, South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Young-min), announced that the auction for the 2026 season raw laver was completed on April 23, 2026. As a result of the auction, a total of 152,942 tons of raw laver were produced over an area of 10,714 hectares, recording auction proceeds of 296.8 billion won and securing the top position in national raw laver production.
This year, the initial yield was somewhat sluggish due to a lack of nutrients for aquaculture and reduced rainfall. However, thanks to the efforts of the fishermen, they succeeded in producing high-quality raw laver, resulting in a 28% (65.6 billion won) increase in auction proceeds compared to the previous year.
