Choo Kyungho Appoints Former Presidential Candidate Moonsoo Kim as Honorary Campaign Chairperson

Following Park Hyung-joon's Invitation
"The Right Person to Lead the TK Election Victory"

On the 28th, Assemblyman Kyungho Chu, the People Power Party's candidate for mayor of Daegu, announced that he had appointed former People Power Party presidential candidate Moonsoo Kim as honorary election campaign chairman.

According to Assemblyman Chu's office, "Based on our plan to quickly establish a campaign structure that can be immediately put into action without further training, we appointed former candidate Moonsoo Kim, who most recently ran in the largest election within the People Power Party, as honorary campaign chairman." Park Hyungjun, the People Power Party's candidate for mayor of Busan, also nominated former candidate Kim as honorary campaign chairman the previous day.

Currently, the Daegu and Gyeongbuk branches of the People Power Party are positioning themselves as the center of the conservative movement in Korea through their plan for a joint campaign committee. The decision to nominate former candidate Kim as honorary chairman stems from the belief that, as a native of Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province and a graduate of Daegu Gyeongbuk High School, he is the right person to lead the party to victory in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk elections.

Assemblyman Chu stated, "Even in the last presidential election, candidate Moonsoo Kim and the People Power Party made an earnest appeal to prevent the nation's foundation from being shaken by the Democratic Party's legislative dictatorship and subsequent grip on the administration. In this Daegu mayoral election as well, I believe the people will choose Kyungho Chu as the counterbalance to the runaway Lee Jaemyung administration, and as the final bastion and breakwater for South Korea's liberal democracy."

Meanwhile, Assemblyman Chu plans to resign from his parliamentary seat on the 29th, and register as a preliminary candidate for Daegu mayor the following day. On May 3, he will open his campaign office in Suseong District, Daegu.
