Bucheon Boksagol Arts Festival Opens on May 2... Diverse Performances, Exhibitions, and Experience Events

The 41st Bucheon Boksagol Arts Festival will take place from May 2 to 5 at the Bucheon City Hall Lawn Square, Central Park, and around the Bucheon Art Center.


This year’s festival is themed “Square - The City’s Senses” and is designed to allow citizens to enjoy art in their daily lives. The City Hall Lawn Square, car-free street, and Central Park will be connected as a single cultural and artistic space, seamlessly integrating performances, exhibitions, and experience programs.

The opening ceremony will be held on May 2 at 7 p.m. on a special stage at the Bucheon City Hall Lawn Square. The event will begin with a performance by the seven-member brass band “WHAT A BRASS,” followed by the stunt cheerleading team “Bigtide,” original Korean music group “Gaonrak,” a choral stage with young vocalists and White Angels, and a performance by the rookie girl group “S2IT.”


During the festival, the Lawn Square will host the Boksagol Dance Festival, Korean Traditional Music Festival, children’s and family musicals, and poetry recitation events. In the “Hidden Artists Discovery Project,” citizens can participate and showcase their talents. In addition, the Bucheon Art Center will feature the play “Their Blues,” an art exhibition, and a choral festival, while the Lawn Square will offer food trucks and a tent zone.


In the areas around Central Park and the car-free street, there will be a co-existence market, a photo festival, and an arts experience market. In celebration of Children’s Day, children’s and family musicals, animation screenings, as well as play programs such as bumper cars and an air sports zone, will also be available.
