Midas Asset Management is set to accelerate its entry into the ETF market by changing its ETF brand name from the previous Korean '마이다스' to the English 'MIDAS'.
On the 23rd, Midas Asset Management announced that it will unify the names of its listed ETF series under the English brand 'MIDAS'. This rebranding is a strategic decision aimed at strengthening brand visibility and intuitiveness, thereby delivering a clearer image to investors. This move reflects an industry trend, where major asset management companies such as Samsung Asset Management with 'KODEX' and Mirae Asset Global Investments with 'TIGER' are building intuitive brand images for investors through short and clear English brand names.
With this brand change as a turning point, Midas Asset Management plans to further expand its influence in the 'active ETF' market, which has become mainstream in the domestic ETF market. The company currently manages a solid lineup of active ETFs, including KOSPI Active, Small and Mid Cap Active, and Japan Tech Active. Based on its accumulated expertise in equity management, the company aims to further solidify the standing of the 'MIDAS' brand by listing additional active ETFs in future growth sectors such as KOSDAQ.
An industry insider commented, "Recently, asset management companies are actively renewing their ETF brands to raise recognition and simultaneously capture demand from both retail and institutional investors, including the pension market. Midas Asset Management is also expected to further strengthen its presence in the active ETF market following this brand change."
