In celebration of the May golden holiday, Namwon City will host the Kids Night Festa 'A Night Playing with Light' at the Media Art Exhibition Hall.
This event, organized by Namwon City and the Woosuk University RISE Project Group as part of efforts to revitalize Namwon Loconomy, will coincide with the first anniversary of the opening of 'Piorium'-a cultural facility created by repurposing waste resources-and the 96th Chunhyang Festival. Families visiting the Chunhyang Festival can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the festival during the day and a unique experience combining light and media art at night.

In the Piorium area, a 'lawn nighttime light playground' will be set up, providing a safe space for children to run and play. The event will be operated to allow children to directly experience light, color, and motion, making media art more accessible and intuitive for them.
Notably, on May 1, 2, and 5, a 'Kids Children’s Song EDM Party' featuring projection media light shows and laser special effects on the exterior walls of Piorium will take place. Familiar children's songs will be reinterpreted with exciting EDM rhythms, creating a nighttime performance that children and their families can enjoy together.
Additionally, a variety of hands-on, sensory experience programs will be offered, such as 'Light Block Play' using illuminated sculptures, 'Graffiti Wall' for drawing freely under blacklight, and making glow-in-the-dark bracelets. These activities are designed so that children do more than just watch-they can touch, draw, and move with the light, becoming part of the art themselves, adding further meaning to the experience.
During the daytime, as well as at night, various performances tailored to children-including magic shows, bubble shows, and cotton candy shows-will take place, offering a wide array of entertainment for families visiting Piorium during the Children’s Day holiday period.
A Namwon City official stated, "We have prepared this program to offer special memories for families visiting Namwon during the 96th Chunhyang Festival and Children’s Day week," adding, "We hope all families can enjoy Namwon's nights together as children become the stars through the exciting Kids Children’s Song EDM Party, blacklight experiences, and light play content."
