Hyundai Engineering & Construction Ranks No. 1 Globally in Construction Sector in S&P Global Sustainability Assessment

Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on April 28 that it has ranked first in the world in the construction sector of the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index (DJ BIC), part of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) published by S&P Global.

The DJ BIC is a revamped evaluation index derived from the existing Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). It selects the top 10% of companies in each sector from among the world’s 2,500 largest companies by market capitalization. Hyundai Engineering & Construction was the only domestic construction company to be listed on all indices-global, Asia, and Korea-for 16 consecutive years. In addition, it was named to the Yearbook 2026 Top 10%, a roster of the highest-scoring companies in the assessment.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction continues to receive high ratings from major domestic and international evaluation agencies, including the Korea ESG Standards Institute and Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) ESG ratings. The company is actively promoting its management strategy, which focuses on sustainability by accelerating the transition to renewable energy and developing eco-friendly technologies, to both domestic and overseas investors.

The company stated, "This achievement is the result of company-wide efforts to implement sustainable management, including addressing climate change, ensuring safety management, and establishing transparent governance."
