It has been confirmed that Jeong Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is scheduled to meet with Jeon Eunsu, spokesperson for the Blue House, on the evening of the 28th. Jeon, who previously ran as a Democratic Party candidate in the National Assembly elections, will step down from the position of spokesperson for the Blue House on this day and return to politics.
With the Democratic Party set to finalize its strategic nominations for Ha Jeongwoo, Blue House Senior Secretary for AI (Artificial Intelligence) Future Planning, and former spokesperson Jeon on the 29th, it appears that the party leader will personally meet with the prospective candidates to explain the nomination plans and related details.

원본보기 아이콘On this day, President Lee Jaemyung accepted the resignations of both Senior Secretary Ha and former spokesperson Jeon. Senior Secretary Ha is expected to be nominated for Buk-gap in Busan, while former spokesperson Jeon is anticipated to be nominated for Cheonan Asan-eul.
Earlier, Leader Jeong also had a dinner meeting lasting about two hours with Senior Secretary Ha. At the meeting, Leader Jeong reportedly asked Senior Secretary Ha to run for office, stating, "You are the perfect fit as the National Assembly member on AI, so please make up your mind."
Former spokesperson Jeon is an internal figure who joined the party as the 7th talent recruited ahead of the 2024 general elections. Previously, the Democratic Party presented the following as its candidate nomination criteria for by-elections: ▲talent recruitment ▲internal selection ▲reassignment of well-known existing party members.
In the last general election, Jeon voluntarily ran for Ulsan Nam-gap, the constituency of Assemblyman Kim Sangwook, then a mayoral candidate for Ulsan. This time, however, Jeon Taejin, a lawyer who was the first talent recruited for the Democratic Party’s local elections, has been assigned to this district.
Former spokesperson Jeon, who is highly likely to be assigned to Cheonan Asan-eul, the constituency of Kang Hoonshik, Chief Presidential Secretary, attended university in the Chungnam region.
Born in Busan in 1984 and raised in Ulsan from the age of two, he attended Taehwa Elementary School, Hakseong Girls' Middle School, and Wooshin High School in Ulsan, graduated from Kongju National University’s Department of Elementary Education, and worked as an elementary school teacher in Daejeon. He later entered the Pusan National University School of Law and passed the 4th bar examination. In Ulsan, he worked as a lawyer and served as a director of the Ulsan Bar Association, public interest commissioner of the Ulsan Regional Labor Committee, director of the Ulsan Women's and Family Development Institute, standing member of the National Unification Advisory Council, vice president of the Korea Association of Public Institution Auditors, and standing auditor of the Korea Energy Agency.
